↑GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba (June 5, 2009) - The Military Sealift Command crane ship SS Cornhusker State (T-ACS-6) arrives at U.S. Naval Station Guantanamo Bay for the exercise Joint Logistics Over The Shore (JLOTS) 09. JLOTS is a critical capability that allows the military to move forces and supplies without the benefit of a fixed, deep-draft port. The exercise will demonstrate the Navy, Army, and Marine Corps ability to deploy, discharge and conduct reception and staging of equipment in a scenario that requires ships to offload while still offshore. ↑GUANTANAMO BAY, Cuba (June 8, 2009) - A 154,000-pound Manitowoc crane is lifted off the deck of the Military Sealift Command crane ship SS Cornhusker State (T-ACS-6). The crane will be used to build an elevated causeway system during the exercise Joint Logistics Over The Shore (JLOTS) 09. JLOTS is a critical capability that allows the military to move forces and supplies without the benefit of a fixed, deep-draft port.
