↑QUEBRADILLAS, Puerto Rico (Oct. 7, 2017) - An MH-53E Sea Dragon from the "Vanguard" of Helicopter Mine Countermeasures Squadron (HM) 14 embarked aboard the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD-1), prepares to transport concrete barriers to help repair the Guajataca Dam in Quebradillas, Puerto Rico. Wasp is assisting with relief efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting the Federal Emergency Management Agency, the lead federal agency, in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort. ↑Pacific Ocean (July 7, 2004) - The Mk. 105 Magnetic Influence Minesweeping System, better known as the "sled", is a high speed catamaran hydrofoil platform which is towed behind the MH-53E Sea Dragon helicopter. Pictured is one of two brought aboard the amphibious transport dock ship USS Dubuque (LPD-8) by Commander Mine Warfare Command (MCMRON) Corpus Christi, Texas, to participate in this year's exercise Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) 2004. RIMPAC is the largest international maritime exercise in the waters around the Hawaiian Islands. This years exercise includes seven participating nations; Australia, Canada, Chile, Japan, South Korea, the United Kingdom and the United States. RIMPAC is intended to enhance the tactical proficiency of participating units in a wide array of combined operations at sea, while enhancing stability in the Pacific Rim region.
