↑VANCOUVER ISLAND, Canada (Feb. 14, 2024) - Torpedo recovery boat TWR-8 participates in range operations in the Strait of Georgia in an area known as "Whiskey Golf," Feb. 14, 2024. The range area is operated by Canadian Forces Maritime Experimental and Test Ranges, a joint Canadian-US test facility situated on the east side of Vancouver Island. The test range is several hundred meters deep, several dozen kilometers long and several kilometers wide over a seabed composed of soft mud and free of underwater obstacles. The facility employs a 3D sonar tracking system for monitoring the performance and position of objects in these waters for real-time tracking.

↑PACIFIC OCEAN (Sept. 9, 2013) - Sailors from the guided-missile cruiser USS Lake Erie (CG-70) and the People's Liberation Army-Navy board a distressed vessel from a rigid-hull inflatable boat as part of a drill during a search and rescue exercise off the coast of Hawaii. The exercise and a recent port visit by three People's Liberation Army-Navy ships at Pearl Harbor is part of the U.S. Navy's ongoing effort to maximize opportunities for developing relationships with foreign navies.
