↑PACIFIC OCEAN (July 20, 2007) - Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) personnel depart the ship via lifeboat en route to clinic sites ashore in Nicaragua. Comfort is on a four-month humanitarian deployment to Latin America and the Caribbean to provide medical treatment to patients in a dozen countries. While deployed, Comfort is under the operational control of U.S. Naval Forces Southern Command and tactical control of Destroyer Squadron 24. ↑LA UNION, El Salvador (June 21, 2009) - Rough seas force members aboard Military Sealift Command hospital ship USNS Comfort (T-AH-20) transits to shore on the lifeboats while anchored at sea. Comfort arrived in its sixth of seven scheduled visits to partner nations during Continuing Promise 2009. Continuing Promise combines U.S. military and interagency personnel, non-governmental organizations, civil service mariners, academic and partner nations to provide medical, dental, veterinary and engineering services afloat and ashore alongside host nation personnel. ↑GULF OF THAILAND (Feb. 13, 2016) - Civilian Mariners aboard USNS 1st LT Jack Lummus (T-AK-3011) receive training on proper techniques for deploying a lifeboat during an abandon ship drill while anchored in the Gulf of Thailand.
